Vincent Courtillot on climate change

Some experts say everything there is to be known about anthropogenic global warming is known, whereas others like Vincent Courtillot believe there is much more, that is yet to be learned.

Thanks for the message from Professor Vincent Courtillot.

It is reassuring to note that the science of climatology and weather forecasts have not been completely destroyed by the corruption of government science.

Piers Corbyn is another scientist who kept the science alive:

Former President Eisenhower warned of the danger that government funds might produce a “scientific-technological elite” that would take control of policy in his farewell address on 17 Jan 1961:

“The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present – and is gravely to be regarded.”

“Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.”

“It is the task of statesmanship to mold, to balance, and to integrate these and other forces, new and old, within the principles of our democratic system – ever aiming toward the supreme goals of our free society.”

    With kind regards,

Many thanks for posting this exceptionally well-delivered lecture. I am embarrassed that I had not heard of Prof. Courtillot until now.

I’m intrigued by your statement ” some experts say everything there is to be known about anthropogenic global warming is known ” . Who is saying that please? I’ve clicked on the link but it doesn’t tell me which experts say this.

    Hengist,
The expert in question is the journalist Keith Kloor. It is his observation that a “substantial body of evidence” supports anthropogenic warming, that I was referring to.

    Let me quote:

What climate consensus are you referring to not being backed up by evidence? My understanding is that AGW is based on a substantial body of evidence spanning disciplines.

  5. John McEvoy

‘Climate Change’ is merely a big, rich, expensive jobs, pensions and benefits club for the elite, funded and paid for by YOU.

” a substantial body of evidence spanning disciplines.” is very different to “everything there is to be known about anthropogenic global warming is known “.

Check out this excellent video where he refutes that entirely at 28mins. Oliver Manuel gets a mention too , just before that.

Oh well, no scientists says everything is known but bloggers do. Like your strapline ‘a complete distortion of the facts’.!!!:-)

    Dear Hengist
Don’t lose your head over this. It was a joke.

And thanks for posting John Mashey videos to refute my strapline. 🙂 to you too. 🙂
